It had a fixed roof, 30 more horsepower than a normal SLK55, and it weighed 45kg less thanks to a lot of carbon fiber. They only made 100!

I saw one of the very few CLK63 Black Series-es in person a couple weeks ago. It was sweet.

yeah I remember that! And it was also hideously expensive, too, I think over 200k

A review from Car magazine (in 2006) says £73,795, which they say was £22,765 more than a standard SLK55. Not a super crazy price jump, but still expensive!

just looked it up, and it turns out it was the SL, not SLK, Black Series that was 300k, sorry for the confusion

I got to sit in one at an AMG driving event many years ago (sat in an SLR Roadster too), but didn’t get to drive it. I want one.

An ump for my softball rec league had one. Didn’t realize that they were that rare.

I’m sure they had a normal SLK55, not this Black Series.

He claimed it was, but you may be right. The wheels and front bumper looked identical, but I don’t recall any vents in front of the doors.

This was in the States I assume? Because then it definitely was just a normal one.
